Violência na migração: vivências de venezuelanos em Pelotas-RS.

Abstract

This research aims to bring contributions to the field of forced displacement in the Social Sciences, with special attention to the case of refugees. Aware of the changes in the current global socio-political scenario when facing the biggest refugee crisis since the Second World War, and knowing the social relevance of the theme, the general objective is to understand the construction of the figure of the Refuge by the violence to which these individuals were submitted as a victim group, since this is a characteristic of forced displacement that is commonly overlooked in academic research. Regarding the specific objectives, it is proposed to analyze how social theories can elucidate in a concrete way for a deeper understanding of the reality and social dynamics of forced displacement, passing, therefore, through biopolitics and necropolitics, as well as the theory of expulsions proposed by Saskia Sassen and the humanitarian government of Didier Fassin, in addition to Judith Butler's proposals on vulnerability and precariousness. To this end, it is proposed to investigate the crisis of forced migration experienced by Venezuela. In order to achieve these objectives, an attempt was made to carry out empirical research with a group of four Venezuelans residing in the city of Pelotas-RS. Using qualitative methodology, the research has semi-structured interviews, as well as a bibliographic review on the theme and statistical data provided by governmental and non-governmental bodies.
