Empreendedoras restinga : um olhar sobre o significado do empreendedorismo feminino

Abstract

This work presents research belonging women on the Association of Women Entrepreneurs in the Restinga neighborhood in the city of Porto Alegre/RS. The research aims to understand the motivating meaning of entrepreneurship for the members of the association. The Empreendedoras Restinga (ER) group was created in 2019 as a non-profit civil association that brought together women entrepreneurs from the Restinga neighborhood. However, in 2020, the group underwent a reformulation and became an association with a headquarters in the neighborhood, gaining significant visibility on social media and in the press. Therefore, the research proposal seeks, through documentary analysis of the ER's social media networks and interviews with women belonging to the group, to engage in a theoretical and analytical discussion about the mobilizing meaning of entrepreneurship for these women, as well as to address important discussions about female entrepreneurship in Brazil. Throughout the research, it was possible to observe four categories of analysis that reflect Weber (2001) ideal types in the narratives of the interviewed women from the association: family connection, ER connection, female entrepreneur connection, and locality connection. The use of ideal types helps in understanding the studied reality. As a result, it was found that there is not just one, but several motivating meanings behind the entrepreneurship of the women in ER.
