O golpe de 64 silenciado: a memória e o esquecimento do período da ditadura no município de Jaguarão - RS.

Abstract

The present work aims to reflect on the Brazilian Civil-Military Dictatorship in the city of Jaguarão, thinking of Rio Grande do Sul as a space of entry and exit of the country. In this way we will briefly discuss the insertion of Brazil in the dictatorial period, and also how the inclusion of the National Security Doctrine system at that moment occurred. What we are looking for here is to understand how the city of Jaguarão built its memory of that moment, addressing topics such as politics, education and censorship. For this to be possible we will use the Minutes of the City Council, the newspaper "A Fôlha" and oral sources, which together will corroborate with the writing of this text. In this way we will present how the dictatorship is remembered in this city, analyzing the factors that influenced this construction.
