Os linchamentos no Rio Grande do Sul: motivações e racionalidades.

Abstract

This work constitutes the study of cases of lynching that occurred in Rio Grande do Sul Lynchings are typically run by normal people who have no history of violence, who rebel against some alien action. This action need not have been of great offensive potential, or need not have directly affected residents. This research sought to answer the following question: Is there a relation between the occurrence of lynchings in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and the ineffectiveness of legal means of justice? Still, we tried to analyze the reasons, circumstances and profile of the lynch mob and lynched in lynchings occurred in Rio Grande do Sul. The methodology used in this study was a document search. Our documentary research was carried directly into the computerized system of writing in the RBS group Porto Alegre City, the articles published by newspapers in the period between 01/01/2001 and 01/01/2012. The term used in research for selection of stories on the theme of "lynching". From the information collected in the newspapers was conducted research in computer system of the Civil Police of the state by accessing police reports and police investigations of selected cases. Conclusion was based on the theories worked and that the data collected, the lynching occurred in the state follows the molds and demonstrates rationality similar to lynchings in the rest of the country. As a result of our research we had although there are other variables involved, the lack of effectiveness of the legal system’s justice directly influence the occurrence of lynchings in the state.
