Realidade Aumentada e Tecnologia Social: Construção de cenários motivacionais para a requalificação do espaço urbano

Abstract

One of the aims of this study was to promote the requalification of urban space in contexts of habitation of social interest. Such aim has been integrated to development, along with, two academic projects. One of them specifically directed to accomplishment of diagnosis stage of urban space to be requalified. The other aimed at observing the potentialities of techniques of augmented reality as facilitators of participative processes between universities and communities of a HIS context, aiming such requalification. The AR techniques refer to insertion of virtual elements to physical real space. The research problem was directed for the structuration of a method of AR use as a strategy of development of social technology. From the review of the concept of social technology, it is understood that the “social” characteristic attributed to a technology derives from its capacity of “empower” a community. Beyond the aid to the resolution of the problems of the community of low index in social development, it is necessary to give power to this community. It is understood the word power as the acquisition of criteria for such community so it can conduct initiatives capable of transforming its own reality. It is supported by previous studies, it was considered that the use of prospective images, which can visualize the consequences of determined tendencies of urban configuration already adopted by inhabitants, facilitates the construction of criteria so that these inhabitants can opt for the continuation of such tendencies or not. Thus, this study was characterized by structuration of a method of use of augmented reality as a mean of representation of support to a process of urban requalification in a context of habitation of social interest, under the perspective of the concept of social technology. After the review stages and appropriation of techniques of augmented reality, situations of urban grow were simulated in augmented reality with the increasing of edifications or, alternatively, with the insertion of vegetation in the urban space. As a result it is understood the viability of the use of such representation technique, it is considered the technological infrastructure available in the context of this study. There are available prospective images of such context, from a diagnosis about a specific street, to be used together to such community. It is known the delimitation of a promoting method of urban requalification under the perspective of social technology, which proposes an increase of use of augmented reality to the method taken at the beginning as reference. This method was called “motivational sceneries”. In conclusion, through the reflections about the meaning of these sceneries against to the concept of social technology, it is obtained the systemization of an analytical method, which, to the context inserted on this paper has guided the designing of other strategies to the requalification of urban space under the same perspective.
