Entre fakes e Catfishes: vidas online e a interação entre usuários de redes sociais virtuais.

Abstract

The present dissertation is a sociological study about the interactions of users of virtual social networks through a problem that has become recurrent in the same ones in recent years: the creation of misleading profiles or fakes. In this way, a dialogue with the Internet and its interfaces emerges as a theoretical mechanism, either by its actors or by its absorption in the social field. Social networks, which we have chosen to call virtual, have altered the way social interaction between individuals, thereby promoting the displacement of relationships, which can often be fraudulent and even criminal. Throughout the research are presented authors and theories that guide us through a search for certain social antecedents that corroborate our problem, that is, we will immerse ourselves in the writings about the informational society, especially the call Cyberculture. Going against this cyber world, a daily follow-up of four online social networking users was carried out, in which interactive features relevant to them are presented, such as the production and manipulation of fake profiles, as these same profiles can or does not affect their online relationships and their lives.
