R/E/P: Rimador-Educador-Pesquisador: procedimentos artísticos e práticas educacionais.

Abstract

This research is the result of my experience with the hip-hop culture in different frameworks, as an artist who raps, makes songs and conceptual music videos. The educator, who gives workshops with a specific methodology. Lastly, the researcher, who seeks the knowledge trough hip hop history and reflection about the practices. The work is developed under the perspective of the a/r/tography concept, which allows the recognition of the artistic and educational doing and the research in arts merging in a single body. The initials R/E/P are an allusion to a/r/tography, wich investigates the artist-educator-researcher in the visual arts field. Therefore, it is a personal/textual report presented in four chapters that address a brief historic about hip-hop culture and the examination of the life journey in three different aspects: rap artist, educator as a workshop instructor and academic researcher. Besides that, letters are present in this text, reports of the experience with Prodígio, one of the participants of my project in the schools. The text has as axis the knowledge as an integrator element of hip hop culture, allowing it’s insertion in the teaching field, making possible an approach in wich the culture is a vital tool of the human shaping. Thus, this work requires a reflection about the paths that lead to the development of the Rapper- Educator- Researcher, connected to the a/r/tography concept. Throughout the chapters, the text addresses the potential of hip-hop to art and education and points out the trajectory stages wich correspond to the respective findings inside this culture.
