Os Vasos Comunicantes e as mulheres do Presídio regional de Bagé - Rio Grande do Sul.

Abstract

The present research arises from the intense flow of women in the Bagé Regional Prison, in Rio Grande do Sul, and from the communicating vessels. Imprisonment in the country has increased over the years, especially for women. The Drug Law (No. 11.343/2006) contributes to imprisoning women without prior crime and corresponds to the conduct that keeps them in prison. The visits are, in this work, understood as the communicating vessels that appear weekly in the institution, taking food to protect the prisoners. With regard to the objectives, it is proposed to analyze the women of the Prison of Bagé as a result of these changes in legislation and the configuration of women who remain imprisoned. In the penitentiary, given the situation of the prison system, visits are responsible for the flow of information and belongings that enter the institution after long waiting lines. Inside the penitentiary is the place where the semi-open regime is served by women. The inmates of this regime, who work, leave in the morning and return in the late afternoon, forming a vase between the women of the institution who circulate between the penal institution and the outside on a daily basis. Along with the visits, the inmates of the prison institution, on visitation days, join the visitors and go to the men's galleries for intimate visits. To present the main vessels, the Integrated Consultations System, of the Department of Public Security of Rio Grande do Sul (PROCERGS) was used. The research carried out was qualitative, with a bibliographical review and a documental analysis of the entry records of the PRB. Through the data, the trajectory of the women and the communicating vessels of the prison institution is observed.
