Abstract

It is noticeable the aridity of several cities, gray and taken over by concrete blocks due to the growing urban expansion demanded by the real estate market. The introduction of graffiti with its creative, communicative, contesting bias; through the expression and sensitivity of each person involved, it brings a new panorama to this context: walls, fences, buildings and urban equipment become the backdrop for various manifestations. Communicating, transmitting messages through and to society, this street art considered free, but still subjugated, has been recognized and valued for its themes ranging from social problems, politics, religion to simple positive messages. The research carried out proposed the analysis of the production of subjectivity and experience in these environments as a way of recognizing the city – to establish relations between graffiti and the production of meaning, recognizing its possible influence as a symbolic reference – in walking and mapping the drives that erupt in the paths. The creative process, the forces and motivating concepts that lead to the visible result, became part of the investigative path in understanding the interactions between subjects, messages, perceptions and the powers involved: identifying cartographic clues about the dynamics of graffiti, through the works by the artist Gordo Muswieck, in search of the driving forces that make up the narratives and the relationship with people. By embodying the urban experience, whether in the author's steps and sensations, as well as in the actions proposed to the students of the Faculty of Architecture at Ufpel, shifts in critical thinking about the city were engendered; movement resulting from the sensitive and intense crossing involved in art and contact with the street – in a deterritorialization of everyday life. Plastic expression, which can generate countless readings and meanings, as a vitalizing element in the production of subjectivity and meaning; mobilizing resistance in the contemporary urban environment.
