Referência, mídia e projeto: Compreendendo a estética da Arquitetura protomodernista em Pelotas-RS

Abstract

Protomodernism comprehend the architecture built in the town of Pelotas-RS, in the decades of 1930 and 1940. Historical Eclectism declined, the brazilian Modernism manifestations were still punctual, even on capitals, and the stylistic references on visual media were close to Art Déco (more or less internationalized). It is enfasized the relationship between visual media and architecture in a process of re-education of view, which were oriented to a new Modernity era. Currently, the interpretation of Art Déco and protomodernist Stylistics, on architecture and other media, is necessary for the recovery of its aesthetic and cultural value. With semiological and iconographical methods, digital graphics experiments and analisys techniques (digital photographic manipulation, visual analisys and architecture drawing) it is attempted to highlight the proximity between different media objects and to identify the artistic and cultural meanings of the architecture at the period. The research does not highlight the heritage aspects of the question. However, it can contribuite to more detailed researchs on the heritage field.
