“O rio é meu e ninguém mexe”: lugar, paisagem e patrimônio na percepção de moradores alocados em Pedro Osório e Cerrito para com o rio Piratini.

Abstract

With the Merleau-Ponty phenomenology as philosophical outline and the humanist geography seen as one of its transdisciplinary deployments, it is approached the spatial categoriesplace and landscape and their respective overlaps in the memorial and identity construction in the perception of residents allocated in Pedro Osório and Cerrito - two municipalities situated in the southwest of Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil - towards the Paratini River - watershed that separates the two locations, through the record of the narratives of oral history and memories of life of the interviewees and their imagetic records. The interviews, understood as source of expression of the subjectivity and of the perception of the narrators, are evoked aiming at describing the feeling of interiorization of the residents towards the enunciated object, as well as the potential ambivalence in which they are inserted - since the river that serves as support for the fruitive-functional activities also means danger, as in the events of urban floods. Therefore, situated in the field Social Memory and Cultural Heritage, the research intends to draft a panorama of the current treatment given to the category of the asset Cultural Landscape by the National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage (IPHAN) in Brazil.
