Aquisição dos ditongos orais mediais na escrita infantil: uma discussão entre ortografia e fonologia.

Abstract

This study describes and analyses the process in writing acquisition of the medial oral diphthongs from the analysis of 947 texts produced spontaneously by children from the 1 and 2 grade of fundamental education in a public and a private school, both in Pelotas/RS. At first, the description and the analysis of the data is realized through statistical results obtained from the computational program – GOLDVARB 2001. This program selected the most relevant linguistic and extra-linguistic variants for this search. It is also realized the analysis of a phenomenon that was observed in the childish texts – the super-generalization’s cases. After that, it is discussed the influence of the variants – following context and type of school as well as the cases of super-generalization. The study showed that the diphthongs ai, ei and ou, just like occurs in oral language, were the vocal groups which presented more writing changes, mainly of omission of the semivowels. In addition, the data showed that the variants – following context and type of school had a great influence in the suppression of the semivowels of the medial oral diphthongs in the childish writing.
