Heterotopias na cidade: caminhografia do evento “Sofá na Rua” em Pelotas.

Abstract

The city has as one of its functions the circulation of population and products. Its normative structure is given by the daily circulation, sometimes controlled by the State. The formation and purpose of the city, as described by Foucault, go through an analysis of the punitive, controlling, and disciplining powers of the State over the individual and the population. This control generates normatized, regulated spaces. However, it also generates other spaces, the heterotopia: real places that contradict, overlap, and, at the same time, distance themselves from the normatized spaces. Therefore, the objective of this research is to investigate how walkgraphy can help in the analysis of the occupations of urban spaces, more specifically in the event " Sofá na Rua" in Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul. To analyze the event as a heterotopia, we will use Foucault's studies on discipline and dispositive, as well as the principles of heterotopic spaces. The methodology used is the walkgrafy, which, through the cartography derived from Deleuze and Guattari's thesis, together with Paola Jacques' errancy and Francesco Carreri's dizzy walk, composes another way of apprehending the everyday, banal city. The walkgraphy attempts to understand the urban processes, as well as the processes of the research itself. In this way, we discuss the walkgraphies carried out and based on our theoretical reference, connecting the axes of the event and the molar, molecular and escape lines developed by Deleuze. Finally, we conclude that the walkgraphy is an alternative to traditional methodologies that totalize and erase singularities, helping in the apprehension of the banal city, its occupation and processes.
