A culpa é do cárcere - um olhar queer para visualidades da cena teatral

Abstract

The present master’s thesis was developed together with the Postgraduate in Visual Arts Center of the Federal University of Pelotas, UFPel.- linked to the research line Education in Arts Processes of Aesthetic Formation. It revisit two theatrical performances of my own: O Cárcere da alma feminina and A culpa foi da água from the study and reflection on the idea of trans theater, which discusses gender identity. Therefore, I revisited the aesthetics and construction of images of my works to questions where and How the gay or the transvestite is represented.This study also resulted in a survey of important and relevant works in the field of representation and representativeness for the Queer and/or LGBTQIA+ scenes. Somehow collaborate with the deconstruction of the stigmas imposed by our society. The methodology presented focuses on visualizing the art of the scene Queer, therefore, it relies on the practice of image reading. From the concept of Queer, I dialogue with authors such as Judith Butler, Rebecca Pearse and Guacira Lopes Louro and on gender identify Michel Foucault.In the final part I bring the proposal of reading scenes(photographs) of my two theatrical works, building reflections on developments that the use of scene images LGBTQIA+ can have in the education/theatre/visuality interaction. In the final considerations I bring the school to the center of the debate as it is my place of pedagogical and artistic performance
