Causalidade e vontade: o monologion de Santo Anselmo

Abstract

This work is a study about the Monologion of Saint Anselm. I intend to expose how God and his creatures can be investigated sola ratione, through the creatio ex nihilo, which establishes the metaphysical distinction between be by itself (per se) and be by another (per aliud). The causal notions of ontological participation and logical predication are very important in structuring of the dialectical arguments, which prove there be really a Summum omnium quae sunt. Also we will explain how the Verb and the Love emanete by Supreme Being. The discovery of the Absolute Trinity is only possible through the psycological analogies, since the rational mind is image and likeness of the Supreme Being, this is, the human soul refletes, per speculum in aenigmate, the transcendent essence of Father, Son and Spirit. However, despite the transcendental unity of memory, inteligence and will, the human consciousness is confused, in such a way that the rational soul must, through the virtues of faith, hope and love, to convert to the Supreme Being, and so, acquire the blessedness.
