Retratos e abrigos de pessoas vulneráveis na pintura contemporânea

Abstract

The research entitled Portraits and Shelters of Vulnerable People in Contemporary Painting addresses the creation process, whose operations involve portrait paintings through displacement in the contemporary city and the painting of shelters that are taken from online newspapers. The painting is elaborated through the material density, enhancing the form, the color and the other, evoking carnality and ink matter. In this way, I seek to reveal how moving around the city enables poetic inquiries about people and vulnerable dwellings, making them visible through portraits and shelters. Along with the pictorial works, I establish relationships with the writings on everyday life in Michel de Certeau, displacement in Francesco Careri and the possibilities of the city in Nicolas Bourriaud and Juhani Pallasmaa, establishing approximations with what is portrayed in painting. Through the writings of Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Georges Didi-Huberman, I perceive the specificities of painting, the painter and the act of seeing and reviewing, rethinking the modes of operations. Through the work of artists such as Virgínia de Medeiros, Paula Trope, Éder Oliveira, Hélio Oiticica and others, it is possible to reinforce the importance of the theme and draw relationships of proximity and distance, contrasting and enhancing my pictorial production. Thus, this research operates in the ability to make present those who find themselves erased in everyday life.
