O tema do exílio nas escritas poéticas de António Jacinto, Agostinho Neto, José Craveirinha e Rui Knopfli

Abstract

Experiences such as the exile, experienced by Portuguese-speaking African poets, besides the intrinsic bond with politics and, by extension, with the History, are also constitutive parts of the literature of these countries, that is, of their literary systems. In this formative construct they also reveal a deep awareness of the Africanness. With an anti-colonial language, this literature, produced in the space of the exile/prison, as well as outside of it, constituted an indictment of the colonial system and expressed hope in the creation of a socialist model. The existential reflection that occurs in parallel to the happening shows a sort of commitment or mission, reflecting the political component that these experiences have. The productions of the Portuguese-speaking African poets did not neglect the aesthetic component and have not seen it dissociated from worldly matters. Considered like this, such experiments constitute object of investigation, as they conform aspects of the literary systems of African countries that were former colonies of Portugal. The research, presented here, methodology has as one of the branches the subject of Comparative Literature. Thus, an intraliterary (angolan literature and mozambican literature) and thematologic study is performed, making it possible to observe how the theme circled in António Jacinto, Agostinho Neto, José Craveirinha and Rui Knopfli. It is also possible to see how the theme took part in the formation of different literary systems. The analysis considers aspects related to the historical, social and cultural context.
